Our Associate Community
We Solve Together
One of our differentiators in the consultancy market is our ability to leverage talent on a flexible basis for specific client needs. We are very proud to have an outstanding network of talented individuals who know us and the way we work to deliver outstanding results for our clients. In our experience, the combination of our core team and specialist SMEs as associates makes the perfect combination for our clients.
Having an associate community permits us to create teams for projects on a flexible basis. Many of our associates are also deep specialists in their subjects – indeed we set the competency bar high to ensure our clients get the best talent available.
When working on our projects with clients our Associates work no differently to our permanent team. They have access to the same materials, resources, knowledge banks and consulting back-up that we all do.
What to expect as a Solve Associate
The beauty of our associate community is the diversity of backgrounds, skills, experience and disciplines they represent. We liken this to a sports team having an “unlimited subs bench” where we can match the skill to the need quickly and effectively for the engagement we are working on.
For you as an associate, we will review your skills through a recruitment process and, if successful, you will become part of our associate network and first choice to work alongside us on client engagements. While projects and needs can be hard to predict, the way we work is :
- First, we get to understand your skills and experience and brief our team about you and what you can offer to client engagements we have running or in the pipeline
- We will provide you with regular updates on what is happening on the projects we have in train as well as what we are seeing in the market generally – this is also helpful IP for you to use (we recognize your independence is important to you)
- There is some basic training and compliance we will need you to do to ensure you understand our policies and conduct – for example around client confidentiality and data protection
- We will undertake some compliance and screening checks to have this on file ahead of any engagement as well as exchanging contracts to enable a fast start on a project
- We will ask you to update your Linked In profile to show you are part of the Solve Associate network – in our experience this helps make connections among our client network and encourage interest
- When an opportunity arise which matches your skills, availability and price point, we may ask you to be involved in the pitch process with a client – we find it is important for clients and for associates to be able to meet and pass the chemistry test before signing up to a new project. We will always discuss with you first the project and introduce you to the Solve team who you will be working with.
- You can work with us as a limited company (outside IR35) or as an full time contractor (FTC) paid via an umbrella company (inside IR35). If you are unsure which way to go we can help advise which approach is the best one for you
- We will ensure you are paid on time and expenses are re-imbursed promptly, we are backed by a leading resourcing partner Saragossa Limited which do this at scale and run a tight ship
- During the engagement we will ensure you are supported and feel part of the team – you are part of team Solve and it should feel that way!
Some of our associates have worked with us on different clients and projects over several years – if we are able to provide you with interesting and consistent work then that is clearly a win : win – of course, the flexibility works both ways and you are free to pursue other work opportunities whenever you wish – however, there are restrictions on working directly for one of our clients for a period of time after your engagement through us completes.
Becoming an Associate
We are always keen to expand our associate community to enable us to create a win : win for associates and our clients. We operate a similar recruitment process for associates as we do for our permanent team and this is a pre-requisite to being part of the associate program. If you would like to be considered for an associate role then please send your CV with a cover letter to associates@solvetogether.co.uk.

Yes, in general we allow our consultants to work from home if this does not impact their ability to deliver for clients.
When working with clients we take our lead from them and endeavor to match their working practices. We find that working with clients at their offices is particularly effective so expect that our consultants maximise time in their office where practicable.
We also support associates working from our offices, and encourage you to do so.
