Our latest research in partnership with FoxRed Insight and sponsored by SEI offers a strategic view for successful consolidation in Wealth Management. The report is based on extensive research conducted between October 2024 and March 2025, including two senior leader roundtables, 42 qualitative interviews, a survey of 75 firms and detailed desk research.

The report covers how consolidation is unfolding in wealth management including deal structures, acquisition processes and common pitfalls. Also, what successful consolidation looks like, with a focus on best practice, strategic principles and future-ready operating models.

How wealth managers can turn challenge into opportunity

Conducted in late 2023 this research focused predominantly on UK wealth management firms. Based a survey of 65 firms and 25 interviews with C-suite individuals and enhanced with the authors’ experience and insights from the industry the report answers a number of questions:

• Where are we as an industry?
• What is stopping us from being better?
• What does good look like?
• What key actions do we need to take?
